Evenflo Soft and Wide Gate

These are a great seller! I found them at Big Lots for $15. For the last 7 days they have a sell through rate of 88% and on average they are selling for $33.29 (researched on Terapeak) and you need to consider the $33.29 include a handful of gates that sold for $28 plus $18 shipping. Which they should only cost about $10 with ups. You can easily double your money on these if not more AFTER eBay fees! :)

ROBEEZ

I just wanted to give you all heads up to look for Robeez at Ross. I have picked up several pairs for $7.99. They sell as fast as they are listed. In case you aren't familiar with Robeez they are a modern toddler/infant shoe and they are approved by American Podiatric Medical Association. Parents love them (I know, I do). Robeez are well made and actually stay on your child's foot. They would normally retail for $40. So when you see them buy all you can get!

Private Listings

You might have something a little personal you would like to sell, but you're not quite sure if you should. Such as a pregnancy test, contraceptives or any other personal items. It's a great idea to list these as "private" buyers love it and you will have more bids then without. People love their privacy... I know I do! These are often great sellers too because people hate buying them in retail stores. So they come to eBay not only to buy the item for less, but also to keep their privacy.

All you need to do in order to list something as private is. Down where you start the bidding price there is a check box that says "private listing" check the box and your done! And continue as normal!

Once the item sells. Feedback can be left as normal. The actual item you sold will not have a link to it in the feedback or allow others to view it on either side of the transaction. It's made private once the item is sold!

Good Luck!

eBay Research Tools

I'm often asked what sells good. Well, of course if everyone knew what the "hot" items were everyone would be selling them. But there is one company, I would highly recommend.
You can research any item on eBay within the last 14 days for FREE (up to 2 years on paid subscription). You will also receive a easy-to-read report on the best time to sell your item, the best listing duration to list your item, key words to use and more. I love this company! You can also upgrade your account too for more features, but even what is FREE is very helpful!
It's even fun just to play around with it and see what is selling and for how much!
Or you can do research on a item you have no idea where start the bid out at.
Know when to sell on eBay
It's a great way to research something before you spend too much!

Do people really buy used clothes on eBay?

Yes! Many buyers know the quality of a certain brand of clothing, but purchasing a $80 pair of jeans isn't in their budget. Some consumers don't mind wearing seconds if they can save money and still have name brands.

Not too long ago I had three pair of designer jeans. I purchased new for around $80 each (before I had my daughter). I knew I was never going to be able to fit into them again, but I paid too much for them just to hope I would lose weight. So I decided to put them on eBay to see what they would bring. I was shocked each pair sold for over $40 and one pair for all most $50.

I often wonder who in the world would pay $50 for a pair of used jeans... I guess the same person that would spend $80 (blush).

Should I open a eBay store?

I'm often asked "would it be to my benefit to open an eBay store". My answer always is, it all depends on your motives on eBay. Here's a few questions to ask yourself.

1. Are you planning on working your eBay business for more then 10 hours per week?

2. Do you see yourself working your eBay business in the next 6 months?

3. Are you going to be selling at least a dozen different items?

4. Are you familar with the basics of eBay as far as buying & selling?

5. Do you have a postive feedback score of at least 10?

If, you have answered "yes" to all five questions. My suggestion would be to open a basic store and give yourself a good 6 months to see if eBay stores is good fit for you. To learn more about eBay store fees and how to get started go here http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/storefees.html .

Can I Make Money On Ebay In a Bad Economy?

Yes! Absolutely and here's why.

eBay offers consumers alternatives to purchasing just about anything for a fraction of what they would pay for retail. So, in reality, with the economy suffering, eBay sellers have more job security because consumers are looking for a bargain and they will come to us!

With over 1.5 billion Internet users as of December 31, 2008. Online shopping is the trend of the future. Not only can the consumer save on gas. They now don't have to take time away from home on their days off or run to the mall for birthday gift on their lunch break. No more dragging small kids to mall or senior citizens don't have bother with the hassle of finding a parking spot, carrying heavy bags store to store. And the best part is, they can compare prices in a click of a bottom and have them delivered to their front door.

As the economy hits a 25 year low more and more consumers will be shopping at eBay to save money!

How to get started selling on eBay

One question I get a lot is, "How do I get started selling on eBay?"

First thing I tell people is to set up an eBay account and buy around 10 items to learn the process and get a good feel for how eBay works. Not only will you gain knowledge of how it works, but you will also gain feedback too. Which is very important in your success on eBay. Also start small, by selling some of your own things before you invest any money in other products to sell. There is a lot more to eBay than taking pictures and working on your computer. You will need to educate yourself on editing photos, Paypal, shipping and customer service. Take your time and learn the basics before you quit your job!

One thing I highly recommend before you get started selling on eBay is that you receive a feedback score of 10 or more. On eBay your word is the most important part of your business. Your integrity will make or break it. I recommend buying 10 items that you need. Such as shipping boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, labels, etc. to build up your feedback. As soon as you agree to buy the item, pay immediately through Paypal. That way the seller will leave you positive feedback and it will begin to build your integrity on eBay.

Once you have learned the basics and are comfortable with the process. It's time to experiment with a few different products. Don't be disappointed if you list something that doesn't sell. You can always mark it down and re-list it.

The very best advice I can give you is to just jump in and learn to swim : )
